The ACC places importance on football. 4-3 in NY6 Bowl game last 3 years.

2 appearances in the National Championship football game with different teams, and 1 Champion. I don't know of any other conference doing any better. The SEC could claim the equivalent with Alabama winning and Auburn losing. But no other conference is better in football.

My point is that Rutgers wouldn't impact that for any reason if they were in the ACC. They aren't going to help the Big Ten achieve any football glory. Their football is mediocre while their basketball is God Awful.
